Hedge cutting is a key aspect of garden maintenance. Many gardens/landscapes contain large hedges that owners find difficult to maintain due to their size.

Hedge maintenance work involves taking precautions for the possibility of nesting birds and wildlife. The Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 makes it offence to ‘intentionally or recklessly disturb any wild bird listed on Schedule 1 while it is nest building, or a nest containing eggs or young or disturb the dependant young on such a bird’. With this in mind, we typically avoid hedge cutting between 1st March and 31st July unless its absolutely necessary.
